Farewell

Dine-out with team mates at Bubba Gump last week. It was a surprise despedida dinner celebration to our Manager. I’d rather not call it a celebration, because there’s nothing to celebrate to. It was a heart-breaking dinner for it would be the last dinner that we could be all together as a team. For more pics, click here.

I remember the day I got the news that I will be joining Team 4, I was so like this “waah, bakit don ako ilalagay?!” hehehe. If I could only refuse the management, I would. hahaha. But then again, I dont have a “SAY” back then because I’m still not a regular employee that time. Team 4 is known to be the “serious shift”. Sbi nila, makakatulog ka daw palagi kc sobra tahimik ng mga tao. Knowing myself, being a loud and jolly person, how can I survive a 12-hour shift that was like that? *sigh* and it’s true that first impression never lasts. They were all wrong about the team.  I feel so blessed having them as my first co-workers. Entering the ‘real world’ isn’t that scary as it may seem way back when I was still studying because of them. Some people said that it’s hard to find a company wherein you are happy with your work and at the same time happy with your working environment (that includes the management and the people).  It’s either you like your work but your boss is a bitch or you don’t like your work but your boss is hot, then you became the bitch. Hahaha. Cheesecorn! A happy working environment + a good management are one of the big factors why I still chose to stay here. I’m so lucky that I get to enjoy both worlds.  At naun, para kameng ngipin na nabungi, wala na un wisdom tooth sama mo na pati pangil (because our Unix Ad will also transfer to a different co.).

To Sir Fath (pat) : Thank you for all the lessons I learned from you, for being a mentor, a friend, a brother, photographer, a father, an enemy (sometimes), and a playmate (most of the time).  I’ll never forget those times that you covered our assess for those failures we don’t intend to commit. For those heart to heart talks that enlightened me what career path should I pursue.  And lastly, for those photoshoot moments, libre, videoke, mooncake festival, gala moment during weekends, pghatid after ng gimik and etc. Thank You po.

Mel:  Be happy on your new company. You’re one of the reasons why I get motivated on pursuing a career on UNIX.  (wala ng mgte-train sa kin).

Team 4 will never be Team 4 without you guys. Wherever we may be our heart as Team 4 will always beat as one. Hahaha. Cheers!

Last night, our team won the Best theme costume and team presentation for Fy’08 Operations Center General Assembly. [*clap* *clap* *clap*]. After the neverending arguments of what theme costume to wear, what music to choose for our dance, and where to buy the clothes. Weeh… Team four won! No one can  beat  Team 4!

LostTalent

I had an awful day today. I can’t find my compilation of drawings. Drawing used to be my outlet before when I was in highschool. When Im hurt, sad or bored, I draw. I’m not that gifted but I know I have the talent. I can’t remmember where I kept it. Arghhh. I hope I can find it. T_T I’m planning to work on my talent. If I still have it. But this time its not because I’m sad or whatever. For an extra income, I guess.  hehe [Tarpaulin keu jan! weh?] Been thinking to study, Adobe Photoshop? Corel? Flash? Well, I kind of know the basic. [copy, cut, paste, resize, crop]. haha ) kidding aside. I used Corel before, it’s more of a User Interface friendly than Adobe Photoshop in terms of layouting etc. [i think] but you can do more things on Photoshop compared with Corel. Someday, I hope I can design my own game.

CareerMove

Until now, I can’t decide on which career path should I pursue. u_u  The only thing I know now is, I want to have a regular shift schedule. It’s really hard and risky to choose because it’s my career that will be on stake here. I love what I’m doing right now, though I get bored sometimes. I’m the type of person who gets bored easily when It comes to doing the same routine over and over again.I got a lot of reason why I love my work. Long vacations [since our schedule is four days work and four days restdays]. Blessed with crazy friends in our dept [never having a dull moment with them]. The fact that I can be a Unix System Administrator or any Administration path i want to pursue [Windows, DBA, Network] someday [but that is 2-3 years from now].  But I’m impatient to wait for the time that I can be a Unix Admin. hehe With the type of schedule I have now, I’m sacrificing my health. I can stand a 12-hour morning shift, but a night shift would always kill me. T_T That’s why I decided to move on to a different position and that would mean changing my career path. I’m still confused if i should transfer on [edited] or on [edited]. I have a lot of things to consider before I choose. hay. I’m scared and at the same time excited on many things. Scared when I think about the things I need to give up [i.e. friends]. And excited knowing that this can be a good oppurtunity to learn and widen my world. I love learning  new things, most especially if it would help me expand my skills set. I’m still waiting for a sign. I hope I would see that sign before I hand over my resume to our HR. haha labo. Woot! Wish me luck.
